Slowdive Live in SF, CA (11/7/14)

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these but Slowdive was just too good to resist. For a 20 year reunion tour it felt appropriate to capture the magic of arguably my favorite song of theirs “Alison” on video. Anyways, read on for the video, a full audio recording of the show, and an informative interview explaining that there may be an eventual new Slowdive album!

After getting to see most of their set at this years FYF festival I was thrilled to hear that they sound just as good as ever and the twenty years of hiatus didn’t seem to affect their musical abilities at all. All too often decade plus reunion tours suffer from the simple fact that people age and it’s hard to maintain the musical and technical prowess (and dare I say, magic?) that propelled them to fame initially. Well, Slowdive have managed to escape that fate and thrive in their bout at a reunion.

Not only that, but there may be another Slowdive album on the way! Check out the interview below (courtesy of Consequence of Sound) to hear frontman Neil Halstead talk about the intent of the reunion, how it came to be, their relationship with fans, and the possibility of new music for the band. All very exciting things indeed!

And as for the amazing live show I witnessed at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco on November 7th, here’s a taste of that as well.
